FAQs/Consider What you Need:
Do you work from photos? Yes, always. For pets, please email a good-quality picture (you can also send by Facebook Messenger, text or Whatsapp), taken at eye-level in decent light (preferably natural light). Your finished artwork is based on your photo so the better the photo, the better the product. It should look like you imagine your pet, if that makes sense!
Can you include humans? No, never. They're just not my thing!
How long will it take? Usually 2-3 weeks for a pet illustration - please click on the "More info/shop online" buttons on the Custom Orders to read full T&Cs in my shop. Custom acrylics can take around a month, Christmas orders reserved early (slots can fill around October!) can be scheduled for delivery in the couple of weeks running up to Christmas. If you have an urgent deadline I will do my very best to prioritise your order, please tell me. I will confirm expected lead time at time of order.
Will I like it? I always check customer satisfaction via an emailed photo before delivery. It's important to me that you're happy! Images in the shop/site reflect my style and you ought to expect similar for your order, based on the agreed reference photos. Artwork is a personal interpretation and reasonable artistic license may be applied where necessary. Returns are not accepted except if provably damaged in transit, in which case a refund will be made according to the delivery company's acceptance of liability and timelines. Posted artworks will be tracked.
Who owns the copyright of my original painting? The artist, Jenni Robinson. Reproducing an artwork in any way, even if you have commissioned it, is absolutely forbidden unless part of a pre-agreed contract. If you want any prints of your artwork to gift or hang in other spaces I will of course be able to source these for you at prices comparable to my retail, assuming the artwork is suitable for reproduction. You may not act as a retailer of reproduced work unless you are agreed as an official stockist.
What do I need in order to create a custom acrylic piece?
When emailing/calling to discuss your order, I'll need an idea of:
Size - consider where it's going/what area you want it to occupy. Measure if you can! I can help to confirm suitable canvas sizes for you.
Subject - Favourite view? Pheasant? Giraffe? It helps if you have sourced the kind of image you'd like (personal photo or via internet search are fine), but I'm happy to help you to agree on a good image to use.
Budget - I encourage customers to save and go with what they want over restricting their order to what their budget can afford, because this is going on your wall and you want it to fulfil your vision. However, if you have a maximum spend, let me know that at the start! Typically acrylics are £150-£800 for up to A1 size, depending on the anticipated work involved in your request. Framing is extra if required.
Surface - I normally work on canvas or board (smooth board is great if the piece is very small, or requiring detail). If you don't intend to get the piece framed you may consider a box canvas, which has a depth of a couple of inches and can be fixed to stand proud from the wall. If you have an alternative surface in mind please get in touch to chat about it!
If you contact me about an order, I will retain your supplied details on a password-protected email account, or my phone which is also password protected.
If you do not go ahead with an order, I will delete your details once our conversation is finished.
If you place an order, I will retain your details for the sole purpose of organising and delivering your order. Details will be removed after 1 year has elapsed since your last order.
